The Department of Health and Human Services recently made an announcement: doctors are no longer allowed to do pelvic, breast, or rectal exams on unconscious patients without written consent. You see, hospitals were letting students give patients still under from surgery or other treatments practice pelvic exams and never telling anyone about it.

This is just the beginning of the nightmare of what it’s like to have a human body in the United States at the moment, from abortion laws that change day to day to the rise of entrepreneurial and hedge-fund owned health care to a quickly lowering life expectancy. Nico and Jessa discuss the rise of telehealth, why the conditions for reproductive healthcare have been allowed to deteriorate, and the history of experimenting on women without their knowledge.
