The Department of Health and Human Services recently made an announcement: doctors are no longer allowed to do pelvic, breast, or rectal exams on unconscious patients without written consent. You see, hospitals were letting students give patients still under from surgery or other treatments practice pelvic exams and never telling anyone about it.
